"Nowhere and everywhere. Real but surreal. The soft collision of heaven and earth." Sky Sculptures is an ongoing series exploring the omnipresence and boundless beauty of a subject known to all – the sky. Sky Sculptures is a digital experiment of new ways to emulate the feelings that being in nature evokes. Sky Sculptures depicts the sky as a vision of heaven, and in its most serene state, a reflection of my ideal state of mind – completely transcendent of calm and clarity. As the artist, I have simply taken cues from the world that we live in, reinterpreting, rearranging and reconstructing; grounding my works in familiarity as a way to remind us that natural beauty is already abundant and all around. I don’t think there’s a single person in the world who doesn’t need that. Each sculptural form has been created by hand in virtual reality, with VR sculpting being a process that feels so tangible without exactly being physical — a quality mirrored in the very existence of the sky above us. Each citation in the series will be my stream-of-consciousness thoughts from the period in my life in which the artwork was made.
