Adam Goc is a Sydney based photographer who travels extensively throughout South East Asia. The images are from the series ‘Still Friends’ taken in Bangkok in 2023. Utilising the traditional narratives and grammar of portrait photography while focusing exclusively on non-human subjects Adam aims to challenge conceptions of what it means to be human by provoking emotional responses to what is essentially a found object. The images deliberately play with notions such as empathy, authenticity and identity prompting the viewer to interrogate their individuated responses.
